The Riz is a delight, Marina O’Loughlin of the Guardion magazine says it all “the food, well, it’s mighty fine: unrestrained spicing, delicate frying, glorious bread, marshmallowy rice pancakes – everything that makes the food from the southern part of the subcontinent so bewitching”.

Yamas is a gem serving authentic Thai food cooked in front of you. This family run business is very popular so booking is essential. You take your own alcohol (off licenses are nearby.
Open from 10am – 3pm then 5pm – 10pm last orders 9:30ish. Open Monday until Saturday.
The Bangkok Thai also serve authentic Thai food cooked and with only 5 tables booking is recommended. You take your own alcohol (off licenses are nearby) and they only take cash – no cards. Too many delicious things on the menu to go into! Ask for advice.

GB Pizza Co.
What started off as a pop-up wood fired pizza place on the Harbour Arm has now grown up into a full-blown restaurant on the seafront. Exposed brick walls, free WiFi and Henry the Great Dane dog. Borough wines on tap.
Cafe style restaurant on the Harbor Arm with one of the best views in town. Jean’s eclectic menu is chalked up on the board according to available local produce.
Winter opening until February Weds-Sunday brunch and lunch, Fri and Sat evenings.
The vanguard of the new Cliftonvlle. 10 mins walk up the hill from the Turner, Forts resides within a proper vintage cafe, reopened by Penny and Stewart. They have a lovely little menu, packed with local produce. Their burger and fires are great. They run a series of social events too such as music quiz, baking club, book share.
The Greedy Cow Deli & Eatery
Based in the heart of the Old Town, The Greedy Cow serves delicious fresh food, amazing coffee. Believe me, we like coffee. Pete’s homemade burgers are the best and we think their cheese platter cannot be beaten! There’s just too much that we love from this little gem of a place.

Wyatt & Jones
Has fast become one of the area’s favourite eateries. Situated at the bottom of the high street on the way to the harbour in Broadstairs. A lovely relaxed atmosphere, strong on local produce.
Royal Harbour Brasserie
You don’t get better views than this. Perched out at the end of Ramsgate’s marina, chef Adrian Mowl has really put his stamp on the place.
Harbour Cafe and Kitchen
One of the first bohemian cafe bars to arrive in Margate. The owners used to have the Vortex Jazz club in Hackney, so live jazz evening events are periodically announced.

The Mad Hatters Tea Rooms
The most extraordinary place for afternoon tea. Peter serves homemade victoria sponge cream cakes with tea in real china in his silk top hat. The decor is decadent Victoriana and it is always Christmas.
Open on Saturdays and Sundays 11am – 4pm.
The Cupcake Cafe
Cakes, bread and a range of light bites tea and coffee. They also have a homeware baking shop next door.
This Neapolitan owned restaurant with a terrace overlooking Viking Bay, Broadstairs feels almost like being in Italy. Antonio Carluccio put it in his top ten of best Italian restaurants in the UK. Italian staff and directly imported ingredients make it a “must”.

Age & Sons
Situated in a converted wine merchants in Ramsgate this excellent restaurant has been awarded a Bib Gourmand from Michelin Guide. They pride themselves on quality local suppliers and the inclusion of foraged Kent wild produce a speciality. There is a cocktail bar tucked away in their basement.
Bijou salon type bar, with rooms. They often have events on.
The Queen Charlotte
Really great pub. We wish it was in Margate. But it’s only a short distance to Ramsgate.
